Fiddler Howie MacDonald and Friends at the Barn

Howie MacDonald. a member of The Rankins, is a fiddle and piano virtuoso who has two tunes on movie sound tracks.  His haunting rendition of the Skye Boat Song is featured in the Jeff Bridges movie, White Squall.  He has composed dozens of fiddle tunes and, although best known as a fiddler, he is a superb pianist whether chording for fiddlers or performing piano solos. 

Beverly MacLean is an accomplished Cape Breton fiddler and piano accompanist who has played primarily in Cape Breton and in the Halifax area but who, in 2019, performed internationally in Denmark. Beverly is perhaps best known for her Kitchenfest concerts and for her work at the Louisbourg Playhouse in their summer productions Spirit of the Island.

Douglas Cameron, from Margaree, played his first concert on piano at the age of 5. At age 9 he was a fiddler. One of Cape Breton’s finest young fiddlers, he has been a frequent performer at Kitchenfest and the Celtic Colours International Music Festival.

Concerts start at 8:00 p.m. Wed. August 24 and Fridays, Sept. 23, Oct. 7 and 14.
