Presenting Morgan Davis in Concert at the Barn Music and Theatre Society
Thursday, August 16 8 pm
Morgan Davis is an award-winning Canadian blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter.
He spent his childhood in Detroit before moving to Toronto in 1968 and Halifax in 2001. His multi- award winning release “Painkiller” won an impressive four awards at the 2004 Maple Blues Awards and not long after took home Canada’s top music prize…the Juno for Blues Album of the Year.
His song “Why’d You Lie” was a hit for Colin James and featured on James’ debut album. The song was also featured in an episode of the CTV and CBS TV series “Due South”.
For years, Morgan Davis has been on the road travelling across Canada, the United States and Europe. This year’s European segment took him to Germany and Switzerland. His performances draw from a rich tradition of country blues, as well as his own compositions.
The Barn, operated by the Barn Music and Theatre Society, is located on the grounds of the Normaway Inn. The atmosphere is informal, the acoustics are excellent, and most seats are within 20 feet of the performers.
Canteen and licensed beverage services are available.
