Fiddle Music with Shelly Campbell & Allan Dewar at the Doryman
Date: Saturday, August 31 2024
The Saturday Afternoon Fiddle Matinée is a tradition that began at the Doryman in 1977 and has run every Saturday afternoon since. This week Shelly Campbell and Allan Dewar take the stage. Shelly’s fiddle playing is powerful, lively, and graceful, deeply rooted in the Cape Breton traditions she grew up with. Allan Dewar grew up absorbing the traditional musical culture of Cape Breton, learning piano by ear and attending every concert, dance, and house party he could. Shelly and Allan are a popular pair at dances, concerts, and céilidhs. Don’t miss them Saturday, 2-6pm.
