Saturday Afternoon Fiddle Matinée at the Doryman: Shelly Campbell
Date: Saturday, December 28 2024
The Saturday Afternoon Fiddle Matinée is a tradition that began at the Doryman in 1977. The tradition continues this week with Shelly Campbell. Born and raised on West Bay Road, Inverness County, Shelly has been playing traditional Cape Breton music for more than 30 years. Influenced by local fiddlers Stephanie Wills, Theresa MacLellan, Gertie Coffin, and Alex Francis MacKay, among others, her playing is powerful, lively, graceful, and deeply-rooted in the traditions she grew up listening to.
