Haus Treuburg Country Inn & Cottages
Opens: Wednesday, April 1 until Monday, November 30
In our Canadian heritage home with a European flair you will find three comfortable guestrooms and a highly rated restaurant which has been featured on “The Great Canadian Food Show” and since 1989 the Inn has been listed in “Where to eat in Canada”.
The guest rooms are located on the second floor of the heritage house. Each has an ensuite bathroom and a bright, comfortable and attractively decorated interior.
The spacious property has three one-bedroom cottages and one two-bedroom cottage and we invite you to leave your footprints on our private beach. Each of the one bedroom cottages has a full bath, a spacious living room with kitchenette and a gas barbecue on the large sundeck. Elisabeth’s Hunting Cottage, located closest to the house, offers two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, kitchenette and a barbecue on the porch. All cottages have a beautiful view of Port Hood Island and you will be in awe of the breathtaking sunsets here.
Wireless internet and cable TV is available in every room and cottage.
Port Hood, a vibrant, scenic, rural fishing village on the Ceilidh Trail on Cape Breton Island and home to sandy beaches and some of the warmest waters in eastern Canada.
Boat tours are available to explore the two charming and historic offshore islands while two beautiful sandy beaches are close by, allowing you to stroll along the pristine waters of Cape Breton Island. Relax at our private beach or enjoy an outdoor chess game with large sized chess pieces. Hike on the nearby boardwalk or take your bike to the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail. You can also book a tee time and play a round of golf at two of Canada’s only true links golf courses, Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs.
Haus Treuburg is the perfect place to make day trips to the Heritage Museum in Port Hood, the Celtic Music Interpretive Center in Judique and to many destinations throughout Cape Breton to explore our Celtic culture.
Each evening, relax and enjoy a romantic candlelight four course dinner prepared by Chef Georg. View our unique dining room antiques while listening to the soothing sound of classical music. Treat your taste buds to typical European appetizers, homemade breads, fresh local fish and Georg’s specialty – apple strudel!.
Start each day off right with a “German Sunday morning breakfast”, served in the cozy bar.
